Caminito del Rey Tickets or a Guided Tour

If you have a car or are happy with the train to El Chorro, buy the official ticket: €10 for a general visit or €18 for the Caminito del Rey’s own guided visit, plus €2.50 for the shuttle bus between the two ends (October 2026). A tour from Málaga costs more because it adds the transport, and it wins when you have no car, when no official tickets are left for your date, or when you want more out of the day than the walk. The white village tour adds a guided morning in Álora and a tapas lunch, from US$73 a person in current promotion (usually US$80) with the ticket (checked October 2026).

What the official tickets cost

From the Caminito del Rey’s official booking site, read on 30 October 2026. Tickets are sold online at caminitodelrey.info (not at the Visitors’ Reception Centre); the official home page adds the ticket office at the north entrance, subject to availability.

The official ticket cannot be changed or refunded unless the management closes the route, for the weather, a landslide or any other reason. Then, within four calendar days of the closure notice, you can either move the ticket to another date, subject to availability, or request a refund, both from your personal space on the official site (the official purchase conditions).

Booking the official ticket

On 30 October 2026 the official booking page said that tickets for dates after 2 May will go on sale at a later date. The Caminito releases its dates in blocks, and the Diputación de Málaga announces each new block in its press releases. To buy, you register on the official site and confirm the account from the email it sends; after paying, you go into your personal space to put a name on each ticket before you download or print it, up to 10 tickets an order.

Getting there on your own

By car, take the A-357 from Málaga to the Ardales junction and the MA-5403 to the Visitors’ Reception Centre, 57.7 km from Málaga by the Caminito del Rey’s own figure; we measured 57.6 km along the roads. Park, take the shuttle (15 to 20 minutes) to the stop by the El Kiosko restaurant, and walk 25 minutes to the gate, where you must be 30 minutes before your slot. After the walk the shuttle stop at El Chorro is about 300 metres from where you hand back the helmet, and buses run from 07:40 to 19:00.

By train, Renfe runs its Proximidad service from Málaga María Zambrano to El Chorro-Caminito del Rey: regional trains plus Cercanías C-2 trains extended beyond Álora, five a weekday towards El Chorro and six back (renfe.com). In June 2026 Renfe put on buses in place of these trains during track works, to run until the works end, so check renfe.com for your date, then take the shuttle up to the north end.

What the tour price buys

On the white village tour, the parts with an official price are the ticket and the guided walk: €18 for the Caminito’s own guided visit. The rest of US$73 in current promotion (usually US$80) buys the coach from Málaga and back, about two hours in Álora with a guide and the museum, and the tapas lunch. If you would drive anyway and eat in El Chorro, the official guided visit and €2.50 for the shuttle cost far less. If you would not, the tour is the simpler day.
